Sexual Function in Women with Pelvic Floor Disorders

This Webcast is a one hour and twenty-five minute enduring symposium from the AUGS 28th Annual Scientific Meeting in Hollywood, Florida, designed for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who screen, diagnose and manage women with pelvic floor disorders.

Program Overview
One of the common problems among women is pelvic floor disorders (PFDs). These disorders have the potential to impact sexual health. Symptoms associated with PFDs and their impact on a woman’s sexual health can be embarrassing and lead to underreporting by women even though these complaints are common. Easy to administer, reliable and valid questionnaires are now available to identify an underreported condition and serve as a platform for clinicians to discuss sexual complaints and provide appropriate interventions.

During the webcast, our esteemed faculty will discuss the following:
• Theories of female sexual function
• The effects of PFDs on sexual function
• Validated questionnaires that evaluate the sexual function of women with and without PFDs
• Data describing changes in sexual function following surgical or medical treatment of PFDs

Purpose Statement
The purpose of this enduring Webcast is to give clinicians tools to evaluate and manage women with sexual complaints associated with pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) in order to improve their urological and sexual health.

Target Audience
This CME activity is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who screen, diagnose and manage women with pelvic floor disorders.
